When it comes to how happy you are about your romantic life, what's love got to do with it? Not as much as you'd think, apparently. There are actually a ton of factors that predict love life satisfaction, according to a recent study published in Applied Research in Quality of Life.
The study was conducted in Lisbon, Portugal where researchers gathered 1,284 men and women ages 18-90 (average age was 38). The participants were divided into three age groups: young adults (18-30 years old), adults (31-59), and older adults (60-90). They were then presented with a series of statements to gauge their love life satisfaction and how it related to several other factors. Most of the things that predicted a happy love life were pretty, well, predictable-like currently being in love, being married, living together, and experiencing sexual desire for your partner.
