None of which involve cupcakes and Pinot Grigio!
Three years after her divorce from Ryan Reynolds, Scarlett Johansson has gained a ton of clarity. The
Captain America: The Winter Soldier actress shares what she's learned
since the split in the recent issue of Glamour: "I think I know myself
better. I feel I know now more of what I need in a relationship, what I
want in a relationship . And I know I have more tools to communicate, not just with my partner, but with myself. " While the divorce must have been difficult, it's great that she was
able to turn this negative experience into a positive lesson.
In fact, the celeb is now engaged to French journalist Romain Dauriac, with whom she recently revealed she's expecting a child. We
aren't surprised her love life is soaring these days, as she points out
in the interview that she's matured a lot since her divorce. She was engaged to Ryan at the age of 23, and they divorced in 2011, two years after they tied the knot. "When
I was first married, I was much younger. And I have had the opportunity
now to work more on getting to know myself," she reveals. "I
think that makes you a better partner and somebody who is able to work
with somebody and stay in a relationship in the not-romantic moments. I
have more patience with myself. I have more patience with my partner. I
think that just comes with age, probably. "
Scarlett's
love lessons totally make sense-it's natural to gain a little
perspective from a previous relationship and use that to be an even
better partner down the line. Between
Scarlett's post-divorce clarity and Gwyneth Paltrow's recent
announcement regarding her "conscious uncoupling" with Chris Martin,
we're starting to wonder if these celebs actually have all the answers
when it comes to getting through a tough split. For more advice on dealing with a separation, check out these six healthy ways to cope with a breakup.
